Mental health crisis support via text A new text service has been launched across Kent and Medway for people of all ages needing mental health support. As part of the Release the Pressure campaign, the texts are free on all major mobile networks and the service is provided by SHOUT and the Crisis Text Line. By texting the word “Kent” to 85258, you will start a conversation with one of the many trained and experienced volunteers who can give support at any time, wherever you are. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help. The service will run in addition to the current 24/7 freephone helpline and is funded by the Kent and Medway Sustainability and Transformat

A message from your County Councillor - March 2020

This must be the strangest Monthly report I have ever penned. Not even sure who will get to read it ! Many Parish magazines are struggling to edit or print.Parish Councils not meeting and some Parish Websites do not appear to be being updated. This was very much a month of two halves. The first two and a bit weeks were relatively normal although one did not need to be a genius to see the storm clouds gathering. In those first two weeks we had the quarterly meeting of the Joint Transport Board for Swale. One of the contributors in the Public Speaking section was Lynsted & Kingsdown Parish Council Chairman David Powell who spoke very well on the Parish Council’s concerns regarding the proposed

Annual County Councillor Report - Andrew Bowles

Due to the current Covid19 outbreak very few Parishes will be able to hold an Annual Parish Meeting for their residents. Under the Local Government Act such meetings should be held between the 1st March and the 1st June each year. Whilst we all pray that current restrictions may be lifted before the 1st June it appears unlikely. Well done to Teynham Parish who held their Annual Parish Meeting on the 10th March before the restrictions on public meetings were in place. Unfortunately, despite the presence of most members of the Parish Council, the two Swale Borough Councillors Lloyd Bowen (Con) and Mike Whiting (Con) and myself as the County Councillor there were no members of the public in att
